Māori and Pacific students

Welcome, kia ora, talofa, bula, malo e lelei, kia orana, fakalofa lahi atu.

The Tuākana Programme is an academic support programme specifically for Māori and Pasifika students in the School of Chemical Sciences. The Tuākana tutorial programme in chemistry aims to provide a friendly and informal supportive atmosphere to improve the achievement of its participants. The program mainly involves staff and senior Chemistry students working together with Stage 1 and Stage 2 students to provide tutorial support throughout the semester.

Benefits of being involved in the Tuākana Programme include:

  • Increased enjoyment and opportunity to succeed
